Marketing Assistant

Overview of the role:

The Marketing Assistant will help develop, drive and implement the Goldstar Europe marketing plan in line with the strategic and operating business objectives and goals. The major task is to promote Goldstar’s products and increase customer awareness. S/he will do this by supporting ad campaigns, assisting with logo sourcing, and acting as brand guardian. The Marketing Assistant must be highly organized, enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work independently with instruction in a fast paced environment. S/he must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and works well under pressure and strict deadlines. S/he must be able to think creatively as well as analytically in order to keep up with the day to day demands of the job and will be responsible for the organisation of our customer sample request system.

S/he will work within a Goldstar’s marketing department. S/he typically works to help with data collection and analysis for market research. The assistant will help perform administrative duties for the rest of the marketing department. The assistant could be tasked with researching various cost factors for prospective marketing campaigns, as well as helping to coordinate existing campaigns by filtering necessary information among marketing, sales, and customer service teams.

The role will include data collection, which may be as simple as culling information from lists or mass information profiles. It may also require more specific work, like competitor pricing surveys that require more intensive hands-on work of the assistant. S/he will be tasked with finding specific data points and collecting them into useful reports or spreadsheets for the marketing team to put to use.

The Goldstar Marketing assistant will need to have excellent computer and communications skills, and they will also need to exhibit outstanding organization characteristic.


What you will do:

(Including but not limited to) 

·        All operational/ routine tasks such as: use of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft  Excel and ERP Systems such as Oracle.

·        Maintain and update Product Master/Pricing files; Customers and Prospects data files; validation of customer data, product set up/updates, inventory/art orders, sales analysis builds and updates, catalogues and web page proofing, misc. presentations. All above with clear and open communication and coordination between departments (creative, production, data, web, customer service, etc.).

·        Coordinate samples processes for maximum efficiency to deliver and support a high standard product samples offering, in terms of art proofing, service and cost.

·         Affiliate Marketing, support with Catalogue Group administration.

·        Support to achieve an increased sourcing platform presence ensuring data is up-to-date. Update and maintain catalogue group platforms also.

·        Provide hands-on support of Goldstar catalogues and brochures process. This includes Goldstar’s Annual Catalogue and Busy Season Catalogue x 3 languages. Data Entry Support for same.

·         Coordinate all ‘Mailings’ to market e.g. Pen pouches; mailers and inserts e.g. organisation of campaigns and Mailings to each country.


Other Responsibilities May Include:

·         On-going upkeep and tracking of present and future mailing campaigns for Customer & Prospects.

·         Support in marketing decisions; for example: results analysis’, future mailing campaign tests, etc.

·         Conduct market research, both customer and competitor, review industry journals and keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments, sharing relevant insights and opportunities with the business.

·         Support PR plan and calendar and support content for industry specialist channels.

·         Support Goldstar’s online strategy, including the creation and maintenance of websites.


 Experience Required:

·         Minimum 2 years’ administration experience in a fast paced environment.

·         Desirable – Degree or other qualification in Marketing.

·         Desirable French language skill.

·         Excellent proof reading skills.

·         Good MS Office skills, particularly Excel skills.

·         Excellent administration skills with a high attention to details.

·         High level of communication skills both Verbal & Written in English

·         Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.

·         Ability to work in tight deadlines & multi-task effectively.

·         Ability to work with ERP system (Oracle) is desirable.
